How it started.
While working in the energy sector, founders Juhan, Sander, and Hindrik kept seeing the same thing—electricity flowing through the grid, but only a fraction being used. Meanwhile, electric cars were showing up in driveways, and charging them was putting pressure on already limited connections.
So they built a smarter solution—one that uses the grid to its full potential. That’s how VOOL was born.
The name VOOL means "flow" or "current" in Estonian, a nod to both the technology and the founders’ shared love of surfing. Today, the company has grown into a team of over 30 people, all working from our office in Tallinn, Estonia, to make EV charging simple, seamless, and ready for the future.
